Two-Color Block Quilt

The two-color block is a great option to make this quilt your own. You can easily make a few adjustments to any Astra size to get this look. Let me help you with these fabric requirements. First, add Fabric A requirement to the background fabric. Then select the number of fat quarters (FQ) to equal quilt blocks, lastly, add one more FQ for cornerstones. Simple as that, my friends.

I’m working on a two-color block version myself; I’ll use the fabrics shown from Riley Blake Design. Each block will have two different colors; however, each block will share the same background color.

You can see my quick mock-up of what I’m creating during the Quilt SAL. This version can give you an eye-catching rainbow or ombre look. Oh, the options you have with this quilt pattern! I get so excited!

Two-Color Quilt Top

Two-Color quilts hold a special place in my heart. I have not yet made a two-color Astra Quilt but it is on my list to do… if you get to it before me, tag me on Instagram - I’d love to see it!

Modern Two-Color Quilt Version

Match Fabric A with Cornerstones

A few of my Traditional Astra quilt testers had the “squares” match and I love it! For this look, you will add the Fabric A with Cornerstone Fabric F to get the total fabric requirements.

Scrappy

Another version I would love to tackle is scrappy! Making a pillow scrappy is incredibly easy by following the Organize Fabric section of the pattern. It lists the exact measurements you need to make the block. Refer to Table 1 in the pattern to determine how many blocks you need for each size.
